Day 10 Tuy Hoa to Nha Trang

March 23rd, 2008
Distance travelled today: 70 km
Current Mood: :D
This was to be our final riding day, so we were both sad yet elated to be nearing our goal. It was really hot and humid as always. We meander along the highway surrounded by lush rice fields on either side. Mal manages to hitch a ride in a buffalo cart to the first rest stop of the day.

There was a large pass at the halfway point of the ride. It turned out to be a challenge, with large trucks spewing out exhaust fumes all the way up. We were intoxicated with carbon monoxide by the time we reached the summit. The ride down proved to be very scenic, and we had lunch at the bottom, next to the beach. Again, some of the riders took time to cool off by jumping in the water.

We got onto the highway after that, and were irritated by the constant beeping from trucks. However, it was a fast ride to the finish, as we counted down the last few km’s. There were many hugs, kisses and high fives as the riders rolled into the finish.

After a quick bus ride to Nha Trang where we were staying the night, we arrived a very cool hotel next to the beach, which welcomed us with coconuts. A wonderful meal later that evening capped off the end of the tour riding.
